Cairokee's lion emblem on a big red sun, a slanted black CAIROKEE banner and كايروكي in red. A red, black and cream constructivist poster.
The lion is the emblem of Cairokee, the band formed in Cairo in 2003 around singer Amir Eid. Here it is drawn in black, crisp as a stamp, over a huge red sun, so its face takes on the colour of the sun behind it.
The style comes from constructivist posters: geometric shapes, flat colour, a black vertical bar and a slanted banner where CAIROKEE runs in big cream capitals. Below, كايروكي in red, and the date: Cairo, since 2003.
Three colours and nothing more: the poster stands out on a white wall as much as on a dark one. It fits a bedroom, a rehearsal room or a living room where the music plays loud.
Every poster of the band is on the Cairokee page, with more voices of the scene in the Arab Pop & Rap world.
