Three posters that make one wall composition: the Benz Patent-Motorwagen, the 300 SL Gullwing and the Mercedes-AMG ONE, three dates in the story of the star.
On 29 January 1886, Carl Benz filed the patent for his Patent-Motorwagen: three wheels, a 954 cc single cylinder, and a place in history as the first practical automobile. In 1954 came the 300 SL with its gullwing doors: a 2996 cc straight-six with direct fuel injection, up to 260 km/h, the fastest production car of its time. In 2022, production of the Mercedes-AMG ONE began, a road car built around the 1.6-litre turbo V6 of a Formula 1 car plus four electric motors, for 1,063 PS.
Each panel is a small showroom: black background, a cone of light, the car standing on a mirror-black floor with its reflection, and behind it the year engraved large in gold. A thin champagne line ties them together at floor level, and under each car sit its name and two lines of specs. The Motorwagen in the photo is a replica, and the credit says so.
Hung side by side with 3 cm gaps, the three panels cover about 96 cm in width: above a sofa, a bed or a desk, on a light wall that makes the black stand out. 4K print on PVC boards about 1 cm thick, no frame needed.
