About Mercedes-AMG

Mercedes-AMG posters: pre-war Silver Arrows, black-and-white W196 shots, single-seaters with teal highlights and AMG GTs carved from steel. Chrome and precision.

On 3 June 1934 at the Nürburgring, a Mercedes W25 in bare aluminium won its very first race. The story goes that the team scraped off its white paint to get under the weight limit; the press simply called it a "silver arrow". In period photos you can still make out the rivets and panel lines on that bare metal. The name stuck, and a Mercedes-AMG poster inherits all of it: silver, speed and precision.

Silver, black and a three-pointed star

The Mercedes look is all about metal. Silver Arrow bodywork, the gullwing doors of the 1954 300 SL, the big star in the grille. AMG, founded in 1967 by Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher, made its name with something far less subtle: the 300 SEL 6.8 "Red Pig", a heavy red saloon that finished second at the 1971 Spa 24 Hours.

In Formula 1, Mercedes won eight constructors' titles in a row from 2014 to 2021, a record. In 2020 the team even swapped silver for black, with "End Racism" on the halo. That Petronas teal on a dark body makes for very graphic prints.

Mercedes wall art for clean spaces

Silver and black suit minimal rooms: a white wall, dark wooden desk, cool lighting. A 300 SL print adds a vintage note to a modern lounge, while a black and teal F1 car fits right into an LED-lit gaming corner. Keep the rest of the wall fairly bare so the car can breathe; one strong image looks more premium than a crowded collage. To play with eras, pair it with something from our Formula 1 page or a Porsche sports car.
