About this poster
Messi from behind, both index fingers pointing to the sky, in navy halftone in front of a giant sky-blue 10. A cream two-colour print with MESSI in heavy capitals at the bottom.
It's Messi's gesture after a goal: both index fingers raised to the sky. He has explained it himself: it's for his grandmother Celia, who took him to his first training sessions as a boy in Rosario. This poster keeps only that moment.
We see him from behind, the sky-blue and white shirt and the black 10 across his shoulders, drawn entirely in navy dots like a screen print. Behind him a huge sky-blue 10 fills almost the whole height. At the bottom, the name MESSI in heavy capitals, his legs crossing in front of the letters. In small type: "Al cielo, para la abuela Celia" (to the sky, for grandma Celia), and his birth date, 24 June 1987 in Rosario.
A simple, graphic print
Just two colours, Argentina's sky blue and navy, on a cream background. From across the room it's a sharp silhouette; up close it's a field of dots, with the slight offset between the two colours you get from old-school printing. It looks great on a white or pale grey wall, above a desk or a bed.
The rest of the series is on the Messi page: the sticker album page, the La Pulga photo print and the G.O.A.T. pop art grid. More legends live in the Football world.
