About this poster

Metallica's 11 studio albums, from Kill 'Em All (1983) to 72 Seasons (2023): covers in a grid, release dates and a timeline under the chrome logo.

Forty years of Metallica on one poster: the band's 11 studio albums, from Kill 'Em All, released on 25 July 1983 on Megaforce, to 72 Seasons, released on 14 April 2023 on Blackened. In between come Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, …And Justice for All, the 1991 album Metallica, Load, Reload, St. Anger, Death Magnetic and Hardwired… to Self-Destruct. The covers album Garage Inc. and Lulu, made with Lou Reed, are left out on purpose: they are not studio albums of the band alone.

At the top, the Metallica logo in a chrome gradient and “The Studio Albums”. Under it, a timeline from 1983 to 2023 with a red dot for every release. Then the real covers in a three-by-four grid, each with its year in red, its number, its release date and its title. The last cell simply reads “11 Studio Albums, 1983 — 2023”.

A whole discography on one wall

Black, steel and red: it belongs above a vinyl collection, in a bedroom or a music corner. One glance and you find the album that got you hooked. 4K-printed on a PVC board about 1 cm thick, it hangs without a frame.
