Thrash riffs and electric lightning.

Metallica posters: the chrome blade-lettered logo, the electric chair of Ride the Lightning, the crosses of Master of Puppets and the Black Album snake.
Los Angeles, 1981: guitarist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich start Metallica. Within a few years their fast riffs and long, twisting songs had redrawn thrash metal, and before long they were filling stadiums around the world. A Metallica poster turns the electricity of those riffs into an image.
It starts with the logo. Drawn by Hetfield himself, it first appeared on Kill 'Em All in 1983: an M and an A stretched into points like blades. On Ride the Lightning (1984), lightning literally shoots out of those letters in an unforgettable electric blue. Master of Puppets (1986) hangs puppet strings beneath a blood-red sky.
Then came the minimalist turn of 1991: the untitled record known as the Black Album, almost entirely black, with the logo and a coiled snake barely visible. In 2023, 72 Seasons caught people off guard with bright safety yellow and black, a nod to the inner sleeve of Ride the Lightning. Four decades on, the graphic punch is still there.
Metallica artwork loves dark walls, charcoal or black, with warm light picking out the blue of the lightning or the yellow of 72 Seasons. Above an amp or a guitar stand, a single print sets the tone. If you play, hang it at eye level from where you sit with the guitar; it turns every practice session into a small ritual. In a bedroom, line up two or three eras of the band to tell its story, from raw thrash to total black.
For a full heavy wall, pair it with Iron Maiden or the pioneers in Black Sabbath, and dig through the whole metal category.
