About Group B Rally
Group B Rally posters: airborne Audi Sport quattro S1s, Martini Lancias, Peugeot 205 T16s and crowds lining gravel stages. Motorsport's wildest 1980s years.
From 1982 to 1986, the World Rally Championship lived through its wildest years. Group B rules gave manufacturers almost total freedom, and the cars became light, turbocharged monsters that fired out of gravel corners like rockets. A Group B rally poster keeps that raw energy alive.
The cars that made the legend
The Audi Quattro brought four-wheel drive to rallying. The Lancia 037, in Martini colours, won the 1983 manufacturers' title and remains the last rear-wheel-drive car to take the championship. The Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 swept the drivers' and manufacturers' crowns in 1985 and 1986. The Lancia Delta S4 was the peak of the power race. Spectators packed the stages so tightly that photos from the time show crowds parting only metres in front of the cars.
The era ended after the 1986 Tour de Corse, where Henri Toivonen and his co-driver Sergio Cresto lost their lives, and the FIA brought Group B to a close. That is part of why these images feel so strong: they belong to a chapter that will never be reopened.
Rally car wall art: mud, snow and dust
Visually, rallying is nature colliding with machinery: sprays of mud, a car leaning hard on a snowy road, a cloud of dust after a jump. Those earthy tones, ochre, white, forest green, sit beautifully with wood and pale walls. A rally car is never clean and never still, and that grit is exactly what gives the print its character.
Hang yours in a garage, a study or a games room, and surround it with a livery from our motorsport collection or a night scene from JDM & Drift. To go bigger, wall sets spread one image across several posters hung 3 cm apart.
The stage clock is running: order now and pay only on delivery.
