About Étoile Sportive du Sahel

Étoile du Sahel posters: the white star on red, a century of history and the Olympic Stadium of Sousse. For fans of the Pearl of the Sahel.

Sousse, 11 May 1925. In the old town, on Laroussi Zarrouk Street, a meeting led by Chedly Boujemla, Ali Laârbi and Ahmed Zaklaoui gave birth to Étoile Sportive du Sahel. A century later, the star still shines. An Étoile du Sahel poster carries the pride of Sousse and the whole Sahel onto your wall.

The red star, a symbol of its own

It's all in the name. The star is the club's emblem, and together with red and white it makes a simple, clear identity that's perfect for a poster. The contrast is sharp, the shapes clean, and it works as well in a minimalist design as in a version packed with flags and tifos.

The Stade Olympique de Sousse adds its own backdrop: a ground in the heart of the city, where on match nights the stands turn red. For many Étoile fans, those images taste of childhood.

A unique African record

Étoile holds a special place in African football history. In 2007 it won the CAF Champions League, beating Al Ahly in the final with a 3-1 win in Cairo in the second leg. That title made it the first club to have won every CAF club competition that existed at the time, a record its supporters are rightly proud of.

A night like that one in Cairo in 2007 is exactly what a poster can keep alive: a date, colours, a shiver down the spine.

Building your Étoile wall

A few ideas:

  • a club-colours print in a light-toned bedroom, to let the red speak;
  • a red and white wall alongside the Tunisia national team;
  • a terrace scene from our Ultras & Stadiums collection right beside it.

From Sousse to Msaken and all the way to Tunis, Étoile supporters recognise each other everywhere. The courier brings it, you pay on the spot.
