About Arctic Monkeys

Arctic Monkeys posters: the white AM soundwave on black, Alex Turner in black and white, and the lunar hotel of Tranquility Base. Minimal and nocturnal.

One white line rippling across black. No faces, no big title, just a wave. The sleeve of AM has become one of the most recognisable images in recent British rock, and it's the first thing most people picture when they think of an Arctic Monkeys poster.

The band formed in 2002 in High Green, on the edge of Sheffield. Four years later Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not (2006) became the fastest-selling debut album in UK chart history and won the Mercury Prize. Alex Turner and friends went from garage to legend in one record.

A wave, some leather and midnight

The AM cover (2013) was designed by Matthew Cooper: an AM radio wave in white on black, stretching across the sleeve like a signature. It suits the album perfectly, slow, sultry and nocturnal. Leather jacket, slicked-back hair, bar neon: that's the midnight in our tagline.

In 2018 Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino moved somewhere else entirely: an imaginary hotel on the Moon, a piano, a retro-futurist lounge. Warmer colours, rounder shapes. Two faces of the band, two ways to decorate.

Minimalism that still makes noise

The beauty of an AM print is restraint. Black and white, it fits anywhere: a pale bedroom, a Scandinavian-style desk, a reading corner. Hung alone, it's enough. Next to something more colourful, it anchors the wall.

To stay in the mood, pair it with our vinyl prints, or with the equally pared-back world of Radiohead. Add a turntable below and a warm lamp, and your room starts to feel like a late-night studio.

Each poster is printed in Tunisia and paid for on delivery. Do I wanna know? Yes.
