About A.L.A
A.L.A posters: clean portraits on white, sunset skies and « نص الليل » calligraphy. Tunisian rap in slate grey and dusk orange.
Midnight, somewhere between Ezzahrouni and central Tunis. A.L.A was born in that suburb in 1992, and in 2017 he broke through with tracks like "U.Z.I." and "S.A.F.E.", which racked up millions of YouTube views. His signature: a flow of his own, English lines slipped into Tunisian Arabic, and an almost cinematic care for his music videos. An A.L.A poster carries that visual ambition onto your wall.
The A.L.A image: black, gold and night light
For an artist who cares this much about visuals, the print has to keep up: lots of black, low lighting, golden light carving out a silhouette. It works with shadow more than colour, with hard contrast and a tight frame, like a paused shot from a film.
It has real attitude without losing its polish. It suits a teenager's bedroom as easily as a home studio or the waiting area of a barbershop, anywhere people like their lighting low.
The language mix that defines his rap can find its way into the design too: a word in English, another in Arabic, set small in a corner. A quiet detail, but one that real fans spot straight away. And because the image is so dark, it looks best under a warm desk lamp rather than harsh overhead light.
Putting your wall together
For a coherent wall, keep the palette dark. A.L.A next to Samara makes a very Tunisian black-and-steel pairing. Add KTYB if you want something more dreamy, with his midnight blues.
A.L.A has also worked with ElGrande Toto, so hanging them together links Tunis and Casablanca, two capitals of Maghreb rap. In portrait format, two prints side by side are enough to set a mood.
Printed in Tunisia and delivered to all 24 governorates. Switch off the ceiling light, turn on a low lamp and let the image do the rest.
