About Samara

Samara posters: white shades against a vivid blue sky, the Trafiquant and Souk era, the black-and-white of Conan. Bizerte's rapper in electric blue and cyan.

Menzel Bourguiba, on the shore of Lake Bizerte, isn't the obvious starting point for a rap star, which is precisely why Samara's story lands so well. Born in 1995, he made his name with hooks that stick for days and a flow you can recognise within a bar, becoming one of the most followed names in Tunisian rap. A Samara poster traces that route, from a northern port town to the biggest stages.

The look of a Samara poster

Samara's trap calls for something dark and taut. Deep black, steel grey, metallic glints, with a flash of gold or red to catch the eye. Think of the docks after dark, cranes cut out against the sky, the lake throwing back the lights of the town. For lettering, think heavy, almost industrial type, like a stencil sprayed onto a shipping container.

In 2024 his track "Souk" travelled well beyond Tunisia and climbed the Billboard Arabia charts, proof that a sound born in a mid-sized town in the north can speak to the whole region. A good print keeps that double identity: rooted in one neighbourhood, facing outwards.

Styling it in your room

A dark wall, charcoal or navy, suits it perfectly; the metallic tones stand out with no effort at all. On a white wall, surround it with black objects, a shelf, a speaker, a cap on a hook, to stretch its mood across the room.

As for pairings, Samara makes a natural trio with Balti, the pioneer, and A.L.A, another essential face of the scene. Want to widen the lens to the whole Maghreb? Add ElGrande Toto and Casablanca walks straight in.

One print, made in Tunisia, and a slice of Bizerte above your bed.
