About Amr Diab

Amr Diab posters: cult covers from Nour El Ain and Tamally Maak, open shirt in the sun, his name in flowing calligraphy. The legend of Egyptian pop in midnight blue and gold.

Some songs you know without remembering ever learning them. "Nour El Ain", released in 1996, is one; "Tamally Maak", from 2000, is another. The voice behind both is Amr Diab, born in Port Said in 1961 and nicknamed "El Hadaba", the plateau, for the way he has held the summit of Arabic pop. An Amr Diab poster packs three decades of hits into a single image.

What makes a great Amr Diab poster

His music has always tasted of summer and the Mediterranean, Egyptian rhythms blended with Western pop. The artwork picks up that light: sea blue, crisp white, golden sand, with a deeper gold accent for staying power. Elegant first, never cluttered.

Amr Diab was also one of the first Egyptian singers to take the music video seriously, back when it was far from standard practice. A polished, carefully composed image is therefore true to his story as much as to his sound. If you'd rather have something more graphic than a portrait, a song title in bold Arabic lettering works beautifully too. Fans recognise "Nour El Ain" at a glance, and the calligraphy alone carries the nostalgia.

Who it's for and where to hang it

This is the poster everyone agrees on: parents who grew up with "Nour El Ain", younger fans who sing his songs at every party. It feels at home in a living room, a hallway or a café, in Tunisia as anywhere in the Arab world.

For a wall that spans generations, pair it with the golden-age Arab legends, then connect it to today's scene with Wegz or Cairokee. The story of Egyptian music in three prints.

Printed in Tunisia, cash on delivery. The chorus will take care of itself.
