The S14 engine under its BMW M Power cam cover, four red plug caps and a red engine bay around it, fading into black under a huge italic S14 and the three M stripes.
The S14 is a double overhead cam inline-four, built from 1986 to 1991: cast-iron block, aluminium head, and two throttle bodies with two butterfly plates each. It is the engine of the E30 M3, and it also went into the E30 320iS and the E36 318i Super Touring. Back then the division behind it was still called BMW Motorsport GmbH, its name from 1972 to 1993.
The poster dives straight into the engine bay: the black cam cover lettered "BMW M Power", the four red spark plug caps, the silver intake, red bodywork all around. Then the photo sinks into black, where "M Power" is spelled out in wide-spaced capitals above a huge italic S14 and a few lines of specs. The three stripes, blue, violet and red, close off the bottom edge.
The car in the photo is not identified: the star here is the engine.
A dark poster that stands out on a pale wall and melts into a dark one. It belongs in a garage, above a workbench, or in a gaming corner next to a sim racing wheel.
