Unveiled at the 2009 International Motor Show Germany in Frankfurt, the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics is a plug-in hybrid concept. It pairs a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-diesel with two electric motors: 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 s, a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h, 50 km of all-electric range and a drag coefficient of 0.22. Its exterior was designed by Mario Majdandzic. In 2010 BMW announced it would build it as the i8, which went on sale in Germany in June 2014.
