About Berserk

Berserk posters: Guts and the Dragon Slayer, the Brand of Sacrifice, Griffith and the Eclipse, in dense cross-hatched ink and splashes of red.

A sword too big to be called a sword, more like a heap of raw iron, a black cloak torn by the wind, one eye that never gives up. A Berserk poster is not light decor; it is a statement. Kentaro Miura launched the manga in 1989 and devoted more than thirty years of his life to it, with a level of detail rarely matched. After his death in 2021, the story resumed in 2022 with Studio Gaga, supervised by his friend Kouji Mori.

Berserk's visual world

Berserk is dark fantasy at its purest: a world inspired by medieval Europe, mercenary wars, demons and broken destinies. Miura's line is staggeringly precise, built from dense hatching, carved armour and landscapes that recall old engravings.

The symbols carry real weight:

  • the Dragonslayer, Guts' colossal blade;
  • the Brand of Sacrifice, a rune burned onto his neck;
  • the Behelit, an egg with a scrambled human face;
  • the Band of the Hawk and its leader Griffith in white armour;
  • the Berserker Armour, black with a wolf-like helm.

The Golden Age arc, which follows a young Guts among the mercenaries, is often called one of the high points of manga. We will leave it at that.

Hanging Berserk on your wall

Miura's black and white belongs on dark walls or in softly lit rooms. A poster of Guts, standing with his sword over his shoulder, becomes the centre of gravity of a bedroom. Pair it with dark wood, leather and a warm lamp and the mood is complete.

Berserk also speaks to lovers of heavy music: its images share the energy of the covers in our metal collection. For a more mystical corner, add pieces from the gothic collection, and for more dark storytelling, try Attack on Titan.

Across Tunisia, Berserk readers recognise each other instantly. This wall will be your rallying sign.
