About One Piece

One Piece posters: Luffy in his straw hat, the whole crew, the Jolly Roger and the Thousand Sunny out at sea, in loud and joyful colours.

A straw hat, a huge grin, a skull-and-crossbones flag snapping in the wind. A One Piece poster is a call to the open sea. Eiichiro Oda has been drawing the manga in Weekly Shōnen Jump since 1997, and Toei Animation's anime has followed Monkey D. Luffy's crew since 1999. The voyage is so long that fans have grown up, finished school and started jobs while following it.

One Piece's visual world

One Piece is a riot of colour. Every island has its own mood, from desert to snow, from floating cities to lands inspired by old Japan such as Wano. Yet a few symbols sail through the whole story:

  • the straw hat, which Luffy guards above everything else;
  • the crew's Jolly Roger, a skull wearing that same hat;
  • the wanted posters, with yellowed paper and bounties that keep climbing;
  • the ships, from the Going Merry to the lion-headed Thousand Sunny.

Oda's style throws everything in: exaggerated silhouettes, wild expressions, crowded backgrounds. On a poster that energy works as well in a single character portrait as in a full crew scene under the flag.

Rigging your pirate wall

Wanted posters are the best decor idea One Piece ever gave us: vertical, one face, one name, one bounty. Line up the crew side by side and the wall looks like a harbour noticeboard. The aged-paper tones sit beautifully with wood, leather and warm lighting.

For a brighter room, Luffy mid-punch against ocean blue brings sunny energy. And in a coastal town in Tunisia, from Bizerte to Djerba, a pirate wall feels right at home. If Wano is your favourite arc, extend the theme with Japanese woodblock waves and the rest of our anime wall art.

Raise the flag. The adventure starts on your wall.
