Hunter x Hunter

A boy in green with a fishing rod, another with white hair crackling with electricity. A Hunter x Hunter poster usually begins with that friendship. Yoshihiro Togashi has been publishing the manga in Weekly Shōnen Jump since 1998, with long breaks that have become part of its legend, and Madhouse's 2011 adaptation introduced it to a whole new generation.

The Hunter x Hunter look: adventure, Nen and shadow

At first Hunter x Hunter feels like a bright adventure: the Hunter Exam, deep forests, impossibly tall towers, a licence shaped like a card. Then the story darkens, with Yorknew City and the Chimera Ant arc, often named among the strongest arcs in shōnen.

That double face shows up in the artwork. On one side, open, cheerful colours: Gon's green, Killua's blue, the sunshine of Whale Island. On the other, night scenes, cold stares and unsettling silhouettes.

The symbols are easy to spot:

• the twelve-legged spider of the Phantom Troupe, tattooed with a number;
• Kurapika's chains and scarlet eyes;
• Hisoka's playing cards and star-and-teardrop face paint;
• the bluish lightning wrapped around Killua.

Building your HxH wall

Gon and Killua are the heart of the series, and they work perfectly as two prints side by side: green and blue, sunshine and lightning. For a darker mood, the Troupe's spider or a Hisoka portrait on black adds the right tension above a gaming setup.

Hunter x Hunter blends well with other adventure shōnen, such as Naruto and its bold symbols. On a light wall, leave breathing room between prints; on a dark wall, cluster them into a block.

In Tunisia as everywhere else, the series has loyal readers who wait patiently for every new chapter. There is plenty more to explore across our anime posters.

Nen, adventure, friendship. Everything a wall needs to last.
