Poster gift ideas: the right picture for every personality and occasion

Football fan, gamer, music lover, minimalist: how to choose a poster gift that lands, for Eid, a birthday or exam results, without picking the wrong world.

Perfume runs out. A T-shirt gets lost at the back of a wardrobe. A poster gift goes on the wall and stays in view for years, and every time its owner glances at it, they think of you a little. It is a present that says "I know you", as long as you choose the right image.

Here is how to get it right, by personality and by occasion, plus a few practical details people tend to forget.

Start by looking at their room

Do a little scouting first. Which colours dominate: white walls, beige, midnight blue? Are there posters already, and in what style? Someone with a gaming desk glowing in purple LEDs is not necessarily dreaming of a pastel print, and the other way round.

Ask a few casual questions as well: the series they are watching, the album on repeat, the player they never stop talking about. One conversation is often enough.

The good news is that our posters fit almost anywhere, above a desk, a bed or a chest of drawers. No risk of a gift that is too big for the room.

A poster for every personality

The football fan

The easiest gift, and the trickiest. Golden rule: never get the club wrong. Give someone their rival's colours and the poster will end up facing the wall. If in doubt, choose a legend or a universal symbol of the game, like the back of the playmaker's shirt with its number 10. Everyone has a number ten in their heart.

The anime fan

A specific character beats a generic visual. If you do not know which, choose a mood rather than a hero: a Tokyo alley in the rain, a samurai at dusk. It works for devoted fans and curious newcomers alike.

The gamer

Think retro: 90s consoles, arcade cabinets, neon. It is a world that speaks to players of every generation, from the older brother who grew up with a Game Boy to the youngest who collects retro games. Our piece on 90s nostalgia and retro gaming is full of ideas.

The music lover

An iconic album cover is the gift that proves you were listening. To find the ones with a real story behind them, read our guide to iconic rock and metal album covers. And for parents or grandparents, a poster of the Arab legends, Umm Kulthum, Fairuz or Abdel Halim, often goes straight to the heart.

The minimalist

No clutter: one image, plenty of calm. A Japanese print in the spirit of Hokusai's Great Wave, all spray and distant Mount Fuji, suits any interior and never dates.

The athlete or the determined student

For someone who gets up early to train or revise, a well-chosen quote becomes a companion. Our guide to quote posters explains how to find the right words, and how to avoid fake quotes.

The right occasions

  • Eid: a present for a child's or teenager's room that makes a change from new clothes. Bright colours for the little ones, their current obsession for the older ones.
  • Birthdays: the moment to be precise, with the character, player or band they love.
  • Exam results or graduation: a quote about perseverance, or an image that points to what comes next, for a new student room.
  • A new home: a wall set, one image split across two, three or four posters hung side by side 3 cm apart. A housewarming gift that dresses a whole wall in one go.
  • No reason at all: often the best gifts. A poster that recalls a shared memory, a trip, a match you watched together.

The practical details

  • Have it delivered to you. Our orders are paid cash on delivery, so if you want it to be a surprise, order to your own address and hand it over in person. We deliver to all 24 governorates of Tunisia.
  • No hanging kit needed. Our posters are 4K-printed on a rigid PVC board about 1 cm thick and arrive with two double-sided EVA foam mounting tapes already on the back: peel, press against the wall, and the gift can go up the same day.
  • Add a note. A handwritten card explaining why you chose this image is worth as much as the poster itself.
  • Give two. Two posters that answer each other, one for you and one for your brother, sister or best friend: a bond you can see on two walls.

All our posters are printed in Tunisia. All that is left is finding the picture that looks like them.

The best gift is the one they are still looking at five years from now.
